From the first barge

2011: Reederei Böttcher launches with the MS Sylvia – and the goal of making events on the water more personal, more beautiful and, above all, more plannable. Since then the fleet has grown – as have our standards.

We accompany our clients from the first idea right through to casting off: choice of vessel, route, timing, technology/partners, catering – everything coordinated so it feels coherent and is genuinely relaxed in the end.

How early should I enquire?
The earlier the better – especially for summer weekends. Short-notice bookings often work out too, if we can find the right combination of vessel, time slot and route.
Are there fixed routes or is that flexible?
We have tried-and-tested routes – but can plan flexibly depending on the occasion, duration and start/end point. The key is that the route matches the atmosphere (e.g. "sightseeing" vs. "relaxed cruising").
Can I bring my own catering/partners?
Depending on the vessel, this is possible. Alternatively, we work with trusted partners. We advise you in a way that keeps the logistics clean (delivery, set-up, timing).
What happens in bad weather?
Many cruises can be planned regardless of the weather (indoor areas, covered spaces). We discuss what is realistic in advance and give clear recommendations – so there are no surprises.
